Manish Malhotra's Reflections At LFW 2013
The opening show of Lakme Fashion Week 2013 Winter/Festive was done by ace designer, Manish Malhotra. Apart from a horde of celebrities, his collection also featured a new range of festive women's wear for the winter season. Lakme Fashion Week 2013 began with a menagerie of colours that were bright and also demure. The primary influences that we see in Manish Malhotra's Lakme Fashion Week 2013 collection is from Rajasthani mirror work. We also see some traditional touches from the Gujarati art that prospers in the run of Kutch. But Manish Malhotra simply cannot give up on this favourite which is Kashmiri thread-work.
As it is winter/festive, Manish Malhotra's designs have been adapted for cold weather. Although the theme is Indian with many lehengas and sarees in the collection, the clothes are mostly full sleeved. The Lakme Fashion Week 2013 Winter festive collection seems to prove the fact that Indian clothing can be worn in the cold weather as well.
Here are some glances at the designs showcased in Manish Malhotra's LFW 2013 Winter/Festive collection.

Sky Blue Lehenga
This sky blue lehenga has traditional Kashmiri work on it. But the highlight of the outfit is the velvet choli which is full sleeved and almost looks like a top.

Brown Gharara
This brown colouredoutfit is perfect for the chilling winters. The lehenga is plain. But the full-sleeved kurta worn over it has immaculate embroidery.

Pink Lehenga With Shirt
This pink fish-tail lehenga is very grand. It is almost bridal. But it has been teamed up with a collared full-sleeve shirt.

Beige Silk Lehenga
This silk lehenga has a blend of two colours; beige and steel grey. The choli is full sleeved with a raised bandhgala collar. The back of choli is
deeply scooped.

Yellow Anarkali With Drape
This yellow colored anarkali dress is a perfect Indian silhouette. It has a simple drape with it that has been wrapped around the neck like a winter scarf.

Neon Pink Frilly Lehenga
The choli of this outfit has exquisite Rajasthani mirror work. But the special feature of the outfit are the transparent frills coming down from the choli and falling over the plain lehenga.

Beige Lehenga Saree
The transparent beige saree with sequins has been draped over a plain lehenga. The blouse or choli has combination of two colours; beige and deep brown.

Low-Cut Choli With Shawl
This choli also has amazing mirror-work on it. The neckline is been cut very low to keep up with banjara style. The drape of this outfit is a shawl and not a dupatta.

Lace Lehenga Saree
This lehenga saree is Boldsky's favourite outfit from the collection. The pale beige saree is a complete see-through. The blouse is cut low like a choli. The brown V-neck blouse has multi-coloured details.

Backless Anarkali
This wine red and green anarkali kurta has a raised bandhgala collar. But the outfit is backless from the rear giving it an amazing textured look.

Anarkali Kurta With Plunging Neckline
This wine red and brown anarkali kurta has a neckline that plunges down to the waist.

Brown n Blue Indo-Western outfit
This outfit is a combination of a kurta that has been slit open in the front and has been paired with loose blue formal pants.

Mustard Yellow Kurta
This kurta was mustard yellow in colour and had pink embroidery. It was worn over a plain lehenga.

Pink Lehenga With Boat Neck Blouse
The pink coloured lehenga is festive and embroidered in silver. The velvet choli is ink blue in colour and has an elegant boat neck design.

Steel Grey n Lace
These outfits are very distinct from the rest of the
collection. They have been designed in a colour palate that uses a play of steel grey and beige silk. The lace neckline also adds a touch to these outfits.

Silk Lehenga With Cotton Choli
The silk lehenga is an extravagant show of pleated steel grey silk with yellow and beige borders. But the choli is made of traditional Rajasthani cotton, mirror work and velvet sleeves.

Pale Green Mumtaz Sarees
We have seen a hint of the re-defined Mumtaz saree in the Summer Resort collection of Lakme Fashion Week 2013 too. Manish Malhotra re-creates those very designs in pale green chiffon with full-sleeved blouses for the winter.

Midnight Blue Gharara
This majestic blue outfit is fit for a bride. The silver work on the bandhgala kurta over the gharara sparkles. The full-sleeved outfit is perfect for a winter wedding.
