    How To Use Multani Mitti For Dry Skin?

    Winter is here and so is dry and flaky skin. If you are among those whose skin gets very dry during winters, then this article is for you. Sometimes experimenting with products available in the market won't give you the desired results. Hence, we have put forth some natural remedies with which you can get rid of dry and flaky skin.

    The main ingredient used in the below remedies is multani mitti. It is one soothing ingredient that will help in healing several skin issues like dry skin, itching, flaky skin, inflammation, etc. It helps in completely absorbing the dirt and impurities on the skin and thus prevents breakouts and acne.

    Multani Mitti And Honey

    The moisturising and antibacterial properties of honey help in locking the moisture on the skin.

    Ingredients

    1 tbsp multani mitti
    1 tbsp honey
    3-4 grapes (optional)

    How to do

    First, mash the grapes. You can always skip this step if you want. In a bowl, add multani mitti, raw honey and mashed grapes. Combine all the ingredients well. Apply a layer of this mask on your face and let it stay for about 20 minutes until it dries. Wash it off using cold water after 20 minutes. You can also apply some moisturiser towards the end. Using this once in a week would give you the desired results.

    Multani Mitti And Sandalwood

    Sandalwood powder mainly helps in treating blemishes, dark spots, acne, pigmentation, etc.

    Ingredients

    1 tbsp multani mitti
    ½ tsp sandalwood powder
    1-2 tbsp of rose water or honey

    How to do

    In a bowl, add the sandalwood powder, multani mitti and honey or rose water enough to make a smooth paste. Apply this on your face and neck and wait for it to get dry. After it dries, you can wash it off using lukewarm water. You can do this once a week.

    The antibacterial properties of curd help in calming down the skin if you have itching or irritation.

    Ingredients

    1 tbsp multani mitti
    1 tbsp curd

    How to do

    Add the multani mitti and curd in a bowl and mix the ingredients well. Spread this mixture evenly on cleansed face and leave it on for about 10-15 minutes. After 15 minutes wash it off using normal water by gently scrubbing it off in a circular motion and pat dry. This mask will give you the best results if used at least once a week.

    Multani Mitti, Lemon Juice And Tomato

    Both tomato and lemon will help in cleansing the skin and multani mitti helps in retaining the natural oils of the skin.

    Ingredients

    1 tbsp multani mitti
    ½ tsp lemon juice
    ½ tsp tomato juice

    How to do

    Take a clean bowl. Add multani mitti, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and tomato juice. Mix all the ingredients well to make a thick paste. Apply a layer of this as a mask on your face. Let it remain for 20-30 minutes. Make sure that you do not talk while you've applied this mask as it may create fine lines on your skin. After 30 minutes you can wash off the mask in plain water.

    If lemon juice or tomato juice is causing any irritation to your skin make sure that you do dilute it with water.

    If you have blemishes or acne along with dry skin, then this pack is the best. The antibacterial and antifungal properties of neem help in eliminating the bacteria causing acne and breakouts.

    Ingredients

    1 tbsp multani mitti
    1 tbsp neem powder
    2 tbsp honey

    How to do

    Dry a handful of neem leaves and blend it to make a fine powder. Add this powder in a bowl along with multani mitti and honey. Combine all the ingredients well. If the mixture is too tight you can add a few drops of water to loosen it. Apply this on your face and let it remain for 10-15 minutes before washing it off with normal water.

    Using cucumber is extremely beneficial in treating skin irritation and dry skin.

    Ingredients

    1 tbsp multani mitti
    Cucumber juice
    1 tbsp honey

    How to do

    Take half a cucumber and grate it. Squeeze the grated cucumber in order to extract the juice. Add multani mitti and honey and combine all the ingredients well. Apply this either on the affected area or the entire face. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and you can wash it using cold water. You can also apply some moisturiser at the end.
