Home Remedies To Treat Adult Acne

Glowing and radiant skin reflects a proper skin care routine and a healthy diet. However, suffering from adult acne can be really very embarrassing, as it is stubborn and due to its big size it cannot be gotten rid of easily.

Adult acne can lead to breakouts on face, chest, and neck sometimes. Most of the women suffer from hormonal acne during a menopausal shift or during the monthly cycle. Stress or dietary imbalance can also lead to hormonal or adult acne on the face.

If you are suffering from adult acne, here are some home remedies to get rid of it without facing any side effects.


1. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is a powerhouse of treating acne on face. Apple cider vinegar helps to kill the bacteria, thus preventing acne on the skin. Using apple cider vinegar helps to balance the pH level of your skin, thus preventing an appearance of acne. Mix one part of apple cider vinegar with 3 parts of water. Mix both the ingredients together and apply this on the face. Wash off with warm water.


2. Cinnamon And Honey Mask

Take two spoons of honey and one spoon of cinnamon. Mix both the ingredients together and apply on the acne. Leave it for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water. Cinnamon contains antibacterial properties that help to get the bacteria out of the face. Honey is antibiotic which helps to dry the acne and prevent further acne.


3. Papaya

Papaya is an essential ingredient which helps to get rid of the hormonal acne or adult acne easily. Using papaya on skin can help to get rid of the dead skin cells and also get rid of the excess oil from the surface of the skin. Take one papaya and mash it well. Apply on the skin and wash off completely with warm water. Rinse the face and pat dry. Using this remedy can help to get rid of the hormonal or adult acne easily.


4. Toothpaste Remedy

Toothpaste dries adult acne easily and also reduces the size of the acne. Due to antibacterial properties present in the toothpaste, it can help to eliminate the bacteria that cause acne. Take toothpaste and apply on the acne with the help of a cotton swab. Apply toothpaste using a cotton swab and leave it overnight. Wash off with cold water later.


5. Tea Tree Oil

When there is too much of clogging and breakouts happening on the skin, using tea tree oil is one simple remedy that can help treat the problem. Using tea tree oil helps to reduce the extra sebum and also treats the dead skin cells, thus unclogging the pores. Due to antibacterial properties present in tea tree oil, it helps to kill the bacteria responsible for adult acne. Apply some tea tree oil on the face with the help of a cotton swab and wash off with cold water. Moisturise after some time.


6. Banana Peel

Banana peel contains lutein which is high on antioxidants that help to reduce inflammation and swelling on the face. Using banana peel on the face helps to encourage healthy cell growth, which prevents an occurrence of acne on face. Take one banana peel and rub it in a circulation motion on the face. Wait for some time and wash off with cold water later. Using the banana peel to get rid of adult acne is the perfect way to deal with it.


7. Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe vera gel is a great ingredient which helps to fight acne. It contains anti-inflammatory properties that help to heal the skin and aids to reduce inflammation and redness. Take some aloe vera gel and apply it on the face using a Q-tip. Wait for some time and wash off with cold water. Using aloe vera gel daily can help to relieve acne easily.


8. Lemon Juice

Due to Vitamin C and acetic acid in lemon, it helps to prevent an appearance of acne on the face. Lemon juice can help to reduce breakouts on face due to a number of reasons. Lemon being extremely rich in Vitamin C can help to soothe your skin and prevent further breakouts easily. Due to astringent properties found in lemon, it helps to dry the acne and prevent acne scars as well. Squeeze one lemon, extract the juice and apply on the acne. Using this remedy can help to prevent adult acne on the skin.


9. Garlic

Due to anti-inflammatory properties, garlic is one among the common ingredients that is used to treat acne. Take 2-3 garlic pods, crush them and mix them with aloe vera gel. Now apply the paste on the acne and leave it for some time. Wash off with cold water later and repeat the remedy for 2 to 3 in a day.
