The festive season has come to an end and everyone is now getting back to their regular 9-6 routine. The festive season may have made you indulge in a lot of activities that may now show results on your skin, leaving it dry.

Skin tends to look parched due to the toxins available in the environment and hence one important thing to keep in mind is to keep your skin hydrated and supple, post the Diwali seaason.

Skin that lacks moisture and water looks dull and dry. No amount of makeup can also hide the level of suppleness and water content on the skin; and hence it is very important to keep your skin hydrated post Diwali, so that you don't lose your natural glow.

Here we mention to you simple remedies on how you can wake up with hydrated and glowing skin post the Diwali season.

1. Eat Water-rich Foods

You should consume foods that are rich in water content that can help to hydrate your body as well as skin. You should ensure consuming more of blueberries, watermelon, plums, bell peppers and lettuce. These veggies or fruits help to increase the water content in the body, which allows flushing out of the toxins from the body, thus giving you soft and hydrated skin.

2. Olive Oil

Olive oil contains a high amount of fatty acids and antioxidants that help to keep your skin hydrated and healthy. Regular application of olive oil helps to keep your skin supple and hydrated. Take some olive oil and massage it onto your skin. Massage in a circular direction for 10-15 minutes and leave it on for some time. Allow the skin to get soaked completely.

3. Honey

One of the skin-friendly ingredients available in the market is honey. It contains anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties that help to keep your skin hydrated and moisturised for long. Take some honey and massage it on your face for 15-20 minutes. Wash off with cold water later. Do this regularly once in a week to enjoy hydrated and glowing skin.

4. Exfoliate Regularly

Exfoliation is the key that helps to remove the dead skin that gets accumulated on the top layer of the skin. You should use a skin-friendly exfoliating cream and exfoliate your skin once in a day. Once you have exfoliated your skin, apply some moisturising gel or cream to keep it soft and hydrated.

5. Serum

Use a good quality serum to keep your skin hydrated all the time. It is important to pick up right products that contain right ingredients in it. It is crucial to pick up serum, which contains ingredients that suit your skin as well. If not serum, you can use moisturiser to keep your skin hydrated. Take some serum and apply in a circular motion for 30 seconds.

6. Use Cosmetics With Water-boosting Ingredients

Using a thick or high brand moisturiser is not the key to achieve hydrated and supple skin. Using a moisturiser, cream or gel that contains water-attracting ingredients like hyaluronic acid, etc., can work wonders on the skin. Using cosmetics with water-boosting ingredients can help to hold up to 1000 times of water in it. Make sure you use cosmetics that contain hyaluronic acid to keep your skin hydrated and moisturised all day long.

7. Add Essential Oils

There are different kinds of essential oils available in the market; and if you are looking for oils that will help to keep your skin hydrated and supple, you can choose any one among them. Choose any essential oil and add it to your bathing water. Essential oils like sweet essential oil, ylang-ylang oil, rosemary and peppermint oil can help to shrink the pores on the skin and maintain the water content of the skin.

8. Avoid Products With Alcohol

Before you buy a product, you should make sure that you avoid using products with alcohol in it. Opt instead for products that contain less-drying astringent ingredients such as witch hazel. Avoid using toners, as it contains a high amount of alcohol in it, which shrinks the size of pores and leave your skin dehydrated.
