DIY Turmeric And Papaya Pack For De-Pigmentation
Hyperpigmentation or pigmentation, as it is commonly known, is caused by darkening of a particular area of the skin due to over production of melanin, the natural pigment that is produced by the skin.
Hyperpigmentation is a very common problem and it does not signal bad health or any other such harm. It can be very annoying to the people who have it, as it makes the skin look patchy and unhealthy.
It can also make makeup look patchy and uneven. Pigmentation has many reasons like sun exposure, which triggers an over production of the melanin pigment.
The other causes of pigmentation can be age spots, pregnancy, acne scars and smoking.
Pigmentation can affect everyone, but is more commonly noticed in people who belong to the Asian and Mediterranean countries.
These skins are more prone to getting darker on sun exposure and other factors. Sometimes, even the use of birth-control pills can induce pigmentation due to the hormonal action.
Whatever be the cause of it, there are natural remedies that you can use at home to gradually decrease the levels of pigmentation.
We'll be sharing one such home remedy with you all today listing ingredients that can easily be found in all your kitchens, which are also inexpensive. So, have a look.
Ingredients
Required:
Turmeric
Papaya
Lemon
juice
Method Of Preparation & Application:
Cut up pieces of papaya and mash them into a paste using a fork. Add around two tablespoons of turmeric to this and mix it well. Squeeze the juice out of an entire lemon and remove all the seeds and mix everything well.
Apply this paste all over the face using a flat brush. You could even use your fingers. That would help you gently exfoliate the skin as well. Keep it on for 15-20 minutes and then wash it off with cold water.
This is a natural microdermabrasion procedure. This basically gets rid of all the older skin, layered on top, and gives way to smoother, glowing skin. The ingredients of this pack make it excessively amazing in removing pigmentation.
Turmeric, the miracle spice of the Indian subcontinent, is antifungal, anti-inflammatory and definitely helps in reducing pigmentation.
That is why, it has been used for centuries in the bridal skin care regime. Papaya is a natural and gentle exfoliant. It gets rid of all the dead skin cells and it also works great in the cell regeneration process. And it is also a natural source of retinol.
Lemon juice is a natural bleaching agent that fades away scars and dark spots.
So, why spend so much money when the answers to your skin care woes are lying right in your kitchen, isn't it?
