Are You Following The Ombre Lipstick Trend?
If you want to follow the ombre lipstick trend, then here is how you can apply it in the right manner.
The latest trend of ombre lipstick that the Internet and makeup buffs are following allows the use of two colours on the lips. The colours can be different shades of the same tone or two very different colours.
In the ombre lipstick trend, the outline of the lips give one colour while the inside of it shows another. This makes the lips grab all attention from rest of the face.

Ombre lipstick gives scope to experiment with colours on lips, if correctly applied.
In case you are looking at a special occasion where you would do the ombre lip colour on yourself, then a trial round of it beforehand is important to get it right on the very day.
So, here is a step-by-step guide on how you can do the ombre lipstick application at home, with easily available cosmetics.
TUTORIAL: How To Apply Ombre Lip Colour
Requirements:
- Lip liner
- Lip brush
- Lip concealer
- A very light shade of lipstick
- The gradient version of the same light coloured lipstick
Process:

Lip Concealing
The first step in applying ombre lipstick is using a concealer to cover all dark spots or blemishes on your lips and making it have a smooth texture. Make sure you use a lip concealer only and not the concealer that you would apply to the face. The base application of a concealer will also ensure that the ombre lipstick stays for long. To apply the lip concealer, use a natural shade and apply it with a brush, beginning from centre of the lips to the sides.

Drawing The Lip Line
After concealing your lips, draw its borders using the lip liner. The lip liner should be a shade or two shades darker than your usual lipstick. Use the lip liner only to draw the border of the lips.

Shading Your Lips
This is an important step in the application of an ombre lipstick. Use the light lipstick at the centre of the lips and lightly to the ends. After applying the pale lipstick, press your lips once or twice together, so that the colours spread all over. Do not smudge out your lipstick while doing this step.

Blending The Ombre Effect
The final step in your ombre lipstick application is blending all the colours right. Please remember an ideal ombre effect has dark ends and a light centre. So, with the lip brush, blend the pale lipstick such that the edge is well defined, while the centre is generously coloured.
