Is it really possible to get your makeup on in 5 minutes flat? Apparently, yes! Not only that, you can do so in just 5 minutes, with the most basic products and sitting just about anywhere - in the car, in the washroom, or at your desk.

It's a great way to get your makeup done on a weekday morning. Here's how you can get gorgeous in 5 minutes when you're running late.

Step One - Foundation:

Step One - Foundation:

Use a good liquid foundation that matches your skin tone, or better still get a good BB cream. A BB cream can be a good friend when you're running short of time, especially if it has SPF and anti-ageing agents. Get the one that's smooth and easy to apply, and make sure you don't apply too much.

Step Two - Concealer:

Step Two - Concealer:

A concealer wand that doubles up as a highlighter is also a handy tool. Get the one that efficiently covers your skin's flaws, and blend it in with your fingers. For an even better finish, finish off by blending with a brisk brush all over your face.

To get that flawless finish, dust some powder all over your face with round strokes. Don't forget your neck, and don't apply too much, especially if you're over 30, or the powder will settle in your creases and make you look much older. Less is always more. Spritz on some setting spray and admire your flawless skin.

Step Four - Blush:

Skip the red or pink blush and opt for a bronzer or a blush in a neutral shade. This also serves to contour your face. Apply it onto your cheeks, your eyelids, the sides of your nose, your hairline, under your jawline and behind your ears.

Step Five - Eyebrow Pencil:

Use an eyebrow pencil to shape and colour your eyebrows as well as compensate for any sparseness.

Step Six - Mascara:

Apply a good mascara on your upper eyelashes and some on your lower lashes as well.

Step Seven - Eyeshadow:

Pick an eye shadow from the neutral palette and apply it along the crease of your upper eyelid, brushing outwards.

Step Eight - Lipstick/Lip Balm:

Step Eight - Lipstick/Lip Balm:

Use a good lip colour or lip balm on your lips. Pick a juicy colour like pink, coral or peach. A gloss works well for the daytime.

This makeup tutorial literally takes just 5 minutes and can be put to work just about anywhere. It's great if you just want to look good before picking up the kids from school, or going to the supermarket, or joining your friends for a movie.

Also, you don't really need more than one brush, and are using mostly just your fingers to apply the makeup, which makes it a great on-the-go makeup solution. You could be stranded in the middle of nowhere, but you'd still be able to look good!
