Chaitra Navratri is one of the most significant Hindu festivals dedicated to Goddess Durga and her nine forms. In 2026, the festival will begin on Thursday, 19 March and conclude on Friday, 27 March with Ram Navami, the birth anniversary of Lord Rama. Observed during the Shukla Paksha of the Hindu month of Chaitra, these nine days mark the arrival of spring and the beginning of the Hindu lunar new year in many parts of India.
Across the country, homes and temples prepare for daily prayers, fasting, and rituals that honour the divine feminine. Here is everything to know about Chaitra Navratri 2026, including dates, muhurat, rituals, and the day-wise worship of the Navadurga.
