Oatmeal And Baking Soda Dry Shampoo Recipe

By Kumutha

You have a hectic day lying in front of you. Wedged between multiple errands, heavy traffic and rushed hours, hardly do you get time to have a proper meal, much less wash your hair. Dry shampoo to your rescue.

It can make your flat, greasy and oily scalp look and smell fresh in a jiffy. And its benefit does not stop at that! Unlike shampoos that contain sulphate, most of the dry shampoos have a lighter formula that remove grease and dirt without stripping hair of its natural oil.

Shampooing often has to be followed up by blow drying or ironing. But with dry shampoo, you do not need heating tools, which in turn protects your hair strands from further damage. Its light talc formula makes it easy to use even when travelling.

And if you are looking for budget-friendly options, you can easily make one at home from the ingredients available in your pantry. Here is a easy to make dry shampoo recipe that just needs two ingredients - ground oatmeal powder and baking soda.

Oats contain a natural cleansing agent called saponins that remove excess buildup from hair without causing any irritation. It is also a rich source of proteins that nourishes the hair, leaving it soft and silky, while creating a protective barrier against outside elements.

Your hair tends to pick up environmental pollutants and emit a strong odour. Baking soda comes in handy in neutralizing the foul smell, while maintaining the PH balance of the scalp.
