When it comes to lighten the dark skin on the knees, people tend to find instant remedies and splurge on cosmetic products. However, if you take a good look at kitchen ingredients you will find some home remedies that can actually solve the problem. We have collated some of the best home remedies for dark knees.

Onion and Garlic
It might sound unusual but this is one of the home remedies that will help fade the dark knees. Take one garlic clove and onion. Grate both of them and mix well. Apply it on the knee skin and rub it for 10 to 15 minutes. Wash away with water. You can also use mild soap to clear away the pungent smell of garlic and onion.
Now mix 1 part of glycerin and lime juice and 2 parts of rose water. This will act as a moisturiser. Do this on a regular basis to lighten the dark knees.

Yogurt and Almond
Treat your skin with this rich almond and yogurt. Take eight to 10 almonds and grind them to make coarse powder. Add two tablespoons of yogurt and mix well to form paste. Apply it on the knees and leave if for 15 to 20 minutes. Before washing with water scrub it gently in circular motion with wet fingers. Follow this twice a week until the dark knees are lightened.

Olive Oil
Olive oil is one the thick moisturisers which protects skin from damages. Warm one tablespoon of olive oil and rub it onto the skin. Do this before thrice a week before going to sleep at night. This is one of the instant home remedies that will help you with dark knees.

Oatmeal Scrub
Oatmeal is widely used in skincare. Scrub made out of ground oatmeal is also helpful in lightening the dark skin on the knees. Mix two tablespoons powdered oatmeal with two teaspoons fresh cream. You can use honey if you are out of fresh cream. Apply this paste on the knees and leave for two minutes. Gently rub the scrub. If the paste has dried wet your hands and then rub it. Wash it away with water.

Lemon and Honey
Lemon is a natural bleaching agent and honey is a natural moisturizer. Squeeze juice from one lemon and mix one tablespoon of honey in it. Apply on dark knees and leave for 15 to 20 minutes. Wash it with water. Start by doing this daily. Then depending on the results use it thrice, twice and once a week.
