Like in puberty, in pregnancy too there is immense hormonal changes which take place in a woman's body. These hormonal changes brings about bodily changes and one of the most common effects of these hormonal changes is mood swings. Mood swings during pregnancy makes the woman angry, irritated, elated and depressed.

Excessive mood swings during pregnancy can be harmful for the baby as it causes stress, which then leads to other complications. Here are ways to handle pregnancy mood swings -

1.Maintain a Dairy – Rather than throwing your pregnancy mood swings at others, write it down. Make it a habit to write down your anger, depression, irritation in a dairy. This will not only make you feel better but also help you cope with pregnancy changes.

2.Keep Yourself Engaged – The more ideal you are, the more mood swings you will have. Keep working, this will help you keep yourself distracted. Don't strain yourself but take up things like knitting, writing, cutting vegetables, dusting etc. Engagement with work will help you keep yourself busy and distracted from other problems.

3.Music Therapy – Music therapy is one of the best way to handle pregnancy mood swing. Music has always been the solution to most of the emotional problems. Listen to music whenever you feel upset. It helps keep you delightfully distracted and also also is a great mood booster.

4.Sleep – Have a sound sleep at night. Most of the time due to disturbed sleep we tend to wake up tired and irritated. Avoid it, as it will also be harmful for your baby. Its normal to have some sleep disorder in the first third month of pregnancy due to body changes but if it persists then visit your doctor.

5.Meditation – The constant weight on your body and worry about the birth process and health of the baby, can be quite stressful. The best way to maintain peace of mind is to do pregnancy meditation. This helps both your physical and mental health.

6.Confession – Tell your problem. Irritation, anger, depression etc, all are the outcome of the pregnancy troubles. Talk it out. Confess your feelings to someone, no matter how trivial they are. Burdening it on yourself will make it worse. Telling it to others may also get you some ways to handle pregnancy mood swings.

7.Look Good – Don't stay shabby. Looking good will make you feel good. Continue with your regular beauty regime. Looking shabby will add on to your mood swing.
