Aussies break record for world's longest pizza line!

Aussie chefs have created a new Guinness World Record by making the longest line of freshly baked pizzas.

This line of 826 freshly cooked pizzas, stretched to 221 metres and has smashed the previous record of a similar line in by just one metre.

Crowds flocked to the Italian hub of Leichhardt, in 's innerwest, to witness the record, where 25 chefs used 500kg of flour, 250 litres of tomato sauce and 350kg of mozzarella cheese.

However, after the Guinness World Record adjudicator confirmed that the record was broken; all the pizzas were given away in charity to the food rescue organisation, OzHarvest, for giving them to 's homeless and disadvantaged.

The event was sponsored by Italian cruise ship company Costa Cruises, and donated 10 dollars for every metre of pizza to the children's charity, Variety.

In total, all the donations taken together raised up to 5000 dollars, reports News.com.au. The earlier was set just three weeks ago in , where they made a pizza line of 220 metres.
