Special Winter Snack: Chana Dal Masala Vada

If the season is cold, then hot and spicy snacks can make your day. Delicious masala vadas can cheer you up and work as a good combination with tea or become tasty starters with meal. Today, we present the chana dal masala vada recipe that is crispy, golden brown and easy to make. Take a look at the list of ingredients required for the making.

Chana Dal Masala Vada Requires:

  1. 2 cups of chana dal (soaked for 3 hours)
  2. Chopped curry leaves
  3. Chopped mint leaves
  4. Chopped coriander leaves
  5. 2 onions (finely chopped)
  6. 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated)
  7. ' cup coconut (grated)
  8. 4-5 green chillies (chopped)
  9. 1/2 tsp pepper powder
  10. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Oil for frying

Making spicy vadas:
1. Coarsely grind the soaked chana dal and add all the the above ingredients. Mix well
2. Make small and flat discs of the mixture and arrange it on a plate.
3. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the discs on simmer.
4. Fry vadas until golden brown and serve hot with sauce or chutney. Tasty chana dal masala vadas are ready.

The chana dal in the vada can be replaced with any dal (like mung dal, soya etc) and served as special snack recipes.
