Green Peas Idli With Mint Chutney

Are you bored of eating the same old boring idlis with coconut chutney? Here is a recipe to prepare a different type of idli that makes you want for more. Green peas idli, basically made of green vegetables like peas, bitter gourd and mint leaves provides not just taste but also provides proper nutrition. Moreover, is also good for the overall health.

Green peas idli can be eaten for a light meal and also be relished as an evening snack with tea. For those who want to make their breakfast or dinner a simple affair, no doubt green peas idli is the best option you can have and for those who are on oil-free diet can vouch on this food for better results.

Serves: 5-6
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 20-30 minutes

Ingredients

For the preparation of the Idli

Semolina (rava)- 2 cups (roasted)
Green peas- 3/4 cup (coarsely ground)
Fenugreek leaves- 1tbsp (chopped)
Curds- 2tsp
Quick cooking rolled oats- 2tsp
Bitter gourd peel- 2tsp (grounded into paste)
Ginger-green chilli paste- 3tsp
Salt to taste

Ingredients for making mint chutney

Curd-2 cups
Chopped strawberries- 1 cup (optional)
Honey- 3tsp
Chopped mint leaves- 4tsp
Freshly ground black pepper powder- a pinch
Salt to taste

Procedure
1. In a mixer, add the ingredients needed to make the mint chutney.
2. Grind the chutney into a fine paste.
3. After grinding the paste season it with mustard seeds and curry leaves.
4. For the idli, combine all the ingredients to prepare idli mix in a bowl.
5. Pour the idli batter or mix in the moulds. Steam in an idli steamer for 10 minutes till the idli looks cooked and soft.
6. Garnish the idli with coriander and peas.

You can relish the green peas idli with the freshly prepared mint chutney.
