Veeyaadhu pinsendru adum.
Other enemies one might hope to escape, but one cannot evade The inexorable pursuit of the effect of one's own evil deeds.
It is, as it were, an internal disease which has come about in consequence of an evil deed done, a disease which cannot be got rid of. That is why the poet said that this evil effect relentlessly pursues one till it destroys him.
'He who sows the wind shall reap the whirlwind.'
A parallel in Sangam literature is as follows:
Soolvaaindha manathavan vinai poipin mattravan
Vaalvaai nandraayinum akthariyaadhu vidaathae kaan.
(Kali 149: 10-11)
