The Lord of Death shall not lay hands on the one, Who observes the vow of non-killing

By saying that such great and sinless souls who consistently observe the vow of non-killing will not be the victims of Lord Yama, the idea sought to be conveyed is that they will attain immortality and salvation straightaway. A thousand years later Kambar echoed this view in the following words.

'Kootram illaiyoar kutram illaamaiyaal'
