Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa recalls the mongooses that live in their holes up in the wall. They feel cozy and comfortable in their dwelling. Sometimes people tie a brick to their tails that pulls them out of their cozy corner. When the mongooses try to make themselves comfortable in their holes, they will have to come out due to pull of the brick, tied to their tails. The master then goes on to denote that such is the case of a spiritual aspirant when he tries to give in to the ways of the world. Restlessness and uneasiness seize him drawing him out of serenity.
This is yet another story of the Master's illustration of spiritual facts through the incidents of day to day happenings.
