Hindu Calendar May 2024: In May 2024, the Hindu calendar is filled with various vrat (fasts) and festivals that hold significant spiritual and cultural importance. While in Northern India, people are experiencing heatwaves, in the south, everyone is preparing for the monsoon. The month of Vaisakh is ongoing according to the Hindu calendar and soon the Jyestha month will begin.

For those unaware, the Hindu calendar is based on the lunar cycle and consists of 30 tithis (lunar days) in a lunar month. Each tithi has its own significance and is associated with specific rituals and observances. The tithis are classified into two halves: the Shukla Paksha (bright half) and the Krishna Paksha (dark half), each comprising 15 tithis.Each tithi is associated with specific deities, rituals, and observances, and they play a significant role in determining auspicious times for ceremonies and events in Hindu culture.
