Hartalika Teej 2026 Puja Samagri List: From Shiva-Parvati Idols To Solah Shringar, What You Need

Hartalika Teej is one of the most important festivals dedicated to the divine union of Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. Observed on the Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada, the festival is marked by fasting, prayers and an elaborate puja. Hartalika Teej 2026 will be observed on September 14. As preparations begin, having the puja essentials ready can make the rituals more organised and meaningful.

Hartalika Teej 2026 Puja Samagri: The Essentials

The puja traditionally centres around idols of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, which may be made from clay or sand. Some traditions also include Lord Ganesha. For the altar, devotees can keep a puja chowki, a clean red or yellow cloth, kalash, water, Gangajal, roli, kumkum, chandan, akshat (uncooked rice), sindoor and mauli.

The remaining essentials include a diya, cotton wicks, ghee or oil, dhoop, camphor, matchsticks, coconut, supari, paan leaves, fruits and sweets for the offering.

1. Flowers, Belpatra And Traditional Leaves

Flowers and leaves form an important part of Shiva-Parvati worship during Hartalika Teej. Belpatra, dhatura leaves and flowers, aak or madar flowers, red roses and hibiscus are among the commonly mentioned offerings.

Some traditions also prepare a collection of 16 types of leaves, or patri. These may include belpatra, tulsi, shami, mango, ashoka, banana, paan, dhatura, champa, kaner and other traditional foliage. However, the exact list varies across regional and family traditions, so every item should not be considered compulsory everywhere.

2. Solah Shringar For Goddess Parvati

Hartalika Teej also gives special importance to shringar offerings for Goddess Parvati. Devotees may keep sindoor, bindi, bangles, mehendi, kajal, alta or mahawar, bichiya, a comb, mirror, perfume or itr, traditional clothes and other jewellery or shringar items.

The exact 16 items of Solah Shringar can differ according to custom, making it perfectly fine to follow the practice traditionally observed in one's family.

3. Panchamrit And Bhog Items

For Panchamrit, devotees can keep milk, curd, ghee, honey and sugar or mishri. Seasonal fruits, sweets, coconut and other traditional naivedya items can also be offered during the puja.

With its combination of devotion, fasting and elaborate rituals, Hartalika Teej in 2026 is as much about spiritual preparation as it is about gathering puja essentials. While a few core items remain common, families can follow their own regional customs for leaves, flowers, shringar and offerings.
