Bigg Boss 20: Kaashvi Says “Not My Place to Tell Her Anything” After Love Gill Row

Less than a day after a heated Weekend Ka Vaar, Kaashvi Hiranandani apologises for the way she spoke about Love Gill on Bigg Boss 20. In an Instagram Story posted on Monday, 26 October, the gaming creator, who is the girlfriend of contestant ScoutOP, said some of her words were "insensitive towards other people involved".

The apology follows a wave of criticism on social media after the 25 October episode, hosted by Rohit Shetty, who was filling in for Salman Khan.

What happened on Weekend Ka Vaar

Kaashvi, known online as KaashPlays, appeared as a guest and confronted ScoutOP, whose real name is Tanmay Singh, over his closeness with Love inside the house. She sarcastically asked how "the massage parlour" was going, a reference to Scout massaging Love's feet, hands and neck.

She also said Love had trapped Scout, and told him that their bond had made people, including her family, uncomfortable. Shetty had earlier raised concerns about the massages too, telling the pair it was "not looking good at all."

Viewers were quick to respond. Many argued that Love was being held responsible for the actions of Scout, who has a partner outside the house. Both contestants have described their bond as platonic, with Love regarding Scout as a brother.

The backlash builds

Love Gill's team issued a statement defending her, questioning why she was being blamed for another person's feelings. It described the situation as a "toxic double standard" and said Love "deserved empathy, not cruelty".

Television actor Kamya Punjabi also criticised Kaashvi, telling her to stop "pulling another woman down to save your man."

Inside Kaashvi's apology

Kaashvi said her aim had been to hold Scout accountable. "My intention was to address Scout, call out the mistakes I felt he had made, and hold him accountable for his actions," she wrote. "However, in doing so, I realise that some of the words I used were insensitive towards other people involved."

She added that she never intended "to direct hate towards another woman or encourage anyone to target her". Kaashvi also pointed to online commentary describing Love's behaviour as strategy, writing that it had "clouded my emotions but I should have known better".

Her statement ended with: "It's not my place to tell her anything, I recognise that and truly apologise to everyone I've hurt."

Several outlets noted that the apology does not mention Love Gill by name. Neither Love nor her team had responded to it at the time of writing.

Bottomline

The episode has revived a familiar question around reality television: where accountability for a partner ends, and judgement of a third person begins. Kaashvi's apology acknowledges the second half of that line, but whether it settles the matter will depend on how Love, Scout and viewers respond in the coming weekends.
