Gods Of Fertility In Hinduism
Gods of fertility are associated with fertility, pregnancy and new births. There is God for each and every cult in Hinduism. Women of all ages have been facing fertility problems. People retort to religion where even science fails. Many people go to temples and ask for miraculous favours from Hindu Gods. The faith of people towards different Hindu Gods differs from region to region. Aditi- The heavenly bodies were born from the cosmic body of this Mother Goddesses. She is the celestial mother of all existing things in the universe. Goddess Aditi can be regarded as the feminine form of Brahma. Personified as the Goddess of fertility she is also recognized in the form of a cow. So to appease her offer regular prayers to cows that are considered hili in Hinduism and get rid of infertility.
Chandra- Chandra is a lunar deity and is also identified as Soma. He is one of the Gods of fertility in Hinduism. He is the presiding lord of Monday and one who lights up the night. Chandra represents brain and mind, emotions, sensitivity, softness, imagination, queen and mother in Vedic astrology. So take a head bath and offer prayers regularly on Mondays to impress Soma. He is one of the Gods of fertility whose blessing can help you get rid of all infertility problems.
Manasa- Mother Manasa is the Goddess of fertility and snakes. She is primarily worshipped in Bengal and other parts of north eastern India. She is worshipped for her immense powers of curing and preventing snake bites, and also for blessing people with children. During Manasa Puja women keep bowls full of milk in her temple so that her snakes feed on it and she is pleased.
Parvati- Parvati is the embodiment of Shakti and the wife of Lord Shiva. She is the embodiment of many virtues as deemed by Hinduism. She symbolises fertility, marital felicity, devotion to the spouse, asceticism, and power. Parvati is also the household and ascetic ideal. Offer prayers to both Lord Shiva and Parvati to get blessed with a child.
Santoshi- Santoshi Mata is the mother of satisfaction. Women all over India worship her. It is said that if you are able to impress her she will cure all your problems of infertility. Women take up a completely vegetarian diet on 16 consecutive Fridays in a certain season. They also do no eat any sour food during those days. Women believe that in this way they can impress Mata Santoshi and attain her boons.
