The Love Stories of Arjuna
I think almost everyone knows about legends of Mahabharata. Paarth, Dhananjaya, Gaandivdhari, etc. these are the addressing we give to the great warrior and the best archer of the universe, the Arjuna.
We have always known him best by his ability and intelligence in the battlefield but he had many sides as well in his life. Lets know the arjun's story in this article.
Arjuna's Surrender To Krishna
Let’s talk about Arjun’s story today. Its all about his love story. You know how many wives did Arjuna have? Hmm most of you must be knowing that he had two wives, Dropadi and Subhadra. But the actual fact is Arjuna had four wives. The other two were Uloopi, a naga princess and Chitrangada the princess of Manipur.

Just imagine, a warrior, who spends most time of his life in the battle field or practicing for the same, and a love story. Must be interesting eh! If we go on to look for the whole life story of Arjuna, we can actually cover whole of the Mahabharat book because Arjuna himself is one of the main characters in it. So, let’s look for only the love story part of his life.
Dropadi was already in love with Arjuna without have seen him even once but they met at her swayamvar where it was a condition that a fish hanging in the sky has to aimed with an arch to its eyes seeing its image in the water just below it. And as an archer, Arjuna too came to see it. But when no one was able to do so, he climbed forward and hit the target. As a result he got married to the then most beautiful girl. But under certain circumstances, Dropadi had to become the wife of all five pandavas.

Arjuna’s next wife was Uloopi, a naga princess. It all happened when he was in the exile of one year. The princess abducted Arjuna when she fell in love with him and convinced him to marry her. Afterwards, she gave a boon to him that he would never be debilitated in water.
It was during his exile only, when wondering the several parts around the state, he came to Manipur, on the bank of river Kaveri. There he met Chitrangada and fall in love with her and asked her father Chitravahana, the king of Manipur, to allow them marry. The Maharaja kept a condition that as per the matrilineal customs of his people the child born by Chitrangada must succeed the throne of Manipur. Arjuna agreed and got married to the beautiful princess.
Then it comes the turn of his absolute love story. It was with Sri krishna’s half sister Subhadra. In the end of Arjun’s exile, he reached Dwarka, Shri Krishna’s kingdome, where he saw Subhadra and fell in love with her. But the main thing was how to marry. It seemed difficult because Subhadra’s brother Balrama had chosen Duryodhana for her. Then Shri Krishna asked Arjuna to abduct Subhadra, Arjuna did. But all Yadavas became angered against the act of Arjuna and decided to sue him but Shri Krishna managed to tackle the situation and the love birds got married.
