The Truly Humble Shall Be Elevated

Jesus once told a parable to His people who ranked their goodness high and despised the others. This is true of a story about a Pharisee and a tax collector. The two went up to a temple to offer prayers to the Lord. The Pharisee stood aside and prayed thus , "I thank you God that I am not greedy, dishonest, or an adulterer like everybody else. I thank you that I am unlike the tax collector over there. I keep a fast twice a week and I donate one tenth of my earnings"
The tax collector on the other hand did not even once raise his face to heaven, but beat himself on his breast and said, "God have pity on me, a sinner"
Jesus thus enlightened saying that the tax collector was actually justified before God than the Pharisee.
"I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
(Luke 18 : 14 )
Thus the truly humble are the ones who will be favoured by God .
