Kasan, the master was asked to officiate at the funeral of a provincial Lord. Nervousness took over him as he had never been in the company of nobles and Lords. When the ceremony commenced and Kasan was to play his part he sweat.

On his return, Kasan called forth to his pupils and made a confession of his lack of the sameness of bearing in the world of fame which he had acquired in the seclusion of a temple. He admitted that he still was not qualified for the job of a master and resigned from his master-hood. He then spent eight more years as a disciple and returned back to his pupils in an enlightened state.
