Do You Have A Shoulder To Cry On?
“When the miserable world crush your lively spirit out of you, you"ll have a shoulder to cry on. Being youngest in the family, you never knew the burden of responsibility on your shoulders. After our time you need a helping hand to share the burden on your shoulders. Get married my child."
When I look back at those words that my parents used or any other Indian parent might have used to prompt their adamant son/daughter to get married, I wonder at their power. The boredom of single life, the dilemmas of elderly spinsters and greed for security or love, added with these tempting words prompted many like me to enter into the wedlock. However, I wonder whether these words have come true in anyone"s life after marriage!
“A shoulder to cry on" is a myth with regard to marriage. That"s what many modern couples believe. As the changed lifestyle and working schedule push the couple"s time to spend with each other, to a minimal point, where"s time to discuss the agonies? Moreover, if your dilemma is something related to your partner or in-laws, how will you break the barriers before entering the battlefield?
Modern couples have many aspects to consider before they start sharing their problems. Why should you break your weakness to anyone else even if it"s your partner! Who knows that she/he may use your weakness against you at a trivial situation! These doubts are aggravated, as your partner is never willing to share his/her dilemmas with you. Couples in this world are skeptical and self-protective to each other. In that case doors for an open conversation are closing slowly.
A self-centered partner will agitate your dilemmas than offering a shoulder for your tearful eyes. He/she is the solution holder for every problem in this planet. While listening to your agonies, he/she will also think the situation that the other person who caused you this pain is in. After a conversation with a partner like this your dilemma will be doubled with guilt than reducing! You may never need a handkerchief from this hand at the next time.
The next group of partners may be listening walls. They will listen to your problems without any expressions or comment. Once you finish telling your problems they will either keep silent or as you about the latest released movie. You may feel like telling your troubles to your pet than to your partner.
Nobody can be blamed in the above situations. Unknowingly, even you would"ve acted like a non-supporting anchor during the time of whirlpool to your partner too. What you"ve to realize that marriage is a social bond. You"ve come this world alone and you will go alone too. Wherever or whatever situation you are in, you"ve an inherent power in yourself. Believe in that power to lead a peaceful life.
