Charanamrit is a traditional sweet drink that is prepared during Janmashtami and is offered to Lord Krishna as a naivedyam. Here is a detailed procedure with images and a video.
Charanamrit is a traditional recipe that is prepared as a prasad/naivedyum during Janmashtami. People fast the entire day and offer the charan amrit to Lord Krishna before partaking it to break their upvas.
Charanamrit is a sweet drink that is prepared from the milk which is used to wash the Krishna's idol and is mixed with honey, roasted phool makhane and sugar. This drink is distributed as prasad to everybody.
The charanamrit is very easy to make and does not require too much of your time and effort. Here is a step-by-step procedure with images on how to make charanamrit. Also, watch the video recipe.

Serves: 1 bowl

Milk - 1 cup
Curd - 1 tsp
Phool makhana - 7-10
Tulsi leaves - 6-8
Honey - 2 tsp
Chironji - 1 tbsp
Powdered sugar - 1 tsp

1. Add the phool makhanas in a heated pan.
2. Roast them until they turn crispy and light brown in colour.
3. Cut them into quarter and transfer in a small bowl.
4. Pour milk in a bowl.
5. Add curd and honey in it.
6. Further, add powdered sugar in it and whisk well to a smooth consistency.
7. Add the makhanas, chironji and mix well.
8. Add the tulsi leaves.
9. Transfer into a serving bowl.
- 1. The phool makhane must be roasted on a medium flame until they turn crispy.
- 2.The roasted makhane can either be cut into quarters or powdered, according to your preference.
