Foods to avoid when pregnant

Unpasteurized milk
Drinking unpasteurised milk is a big no no especially when you have your child in the womb. When you are pregnant, it is not advisable to challenge your immune system by consuming foods that may contain microbes. So, ensure that you stay away from all unpasteurized foods.

Street food
Street food may contain lots of dust particles and micro organisms. Most of the street food is not prepared in hygienic conditions though it tastes good. So, when you are pregnant, you cannot take risk by consuming that stuff. You can enjoy street food only after your delivery.

Cigarette
If you have not yet quit smoking, then it is high time you do so as smoking can affect a pregnant woman's health in many ways. Smoking can increase the chances of breathing disorders and certain other problems too. The best way to stay way from such problems is by quitting it.

Raw egg and fish

Alcohol
Many women think that a few pegs of alcohol won't hurt much but they are wrong. It is proved that even small quantities of alcohol can affect the health of the baby in the womb. So, ensure that you totally stay away from alcohol.

Green tea
What to avoid when pregnant? Most of us think that green tea is really healthy for us. Of course, it is but not for pregnant women. In fact, the only problem here is that it speeds up the metabolism; it also affects the digestive action of the woman's body. Also, it causes restlessness and uneasiness when pregnant.

Caffeine
Caffeine is the first ingredient that must be avoided when your are pregnant. It is not healthy for your baby. It is good to avoid all liquids that contain caffeine. Most of us think that only coffee is to be avoided. But beverages like tea, red-bull and coke must also be avoided when you are an expecting mother. So, avoid caffeine when pregnant.
