Healthy And Fit Is The New Mantra
Fitness is not a measure of being slim or underweight. A person slightly overweight can also be fit if he able to work and maintain a healthy body and mind. Post-delivery the biggest cause of worry is how to maintain figure after pregnancy or shed those extra pounds you have gained. Generally the workout permission slip by doctor is not given before six to eight weeks depending on your health. A healthy body supports a healthy mind and then only can we raise our little angles properly. So ladies take care of your health and stay fit. So why not follow some simple steps to follow till then and maintain a fit body.

Control Your Food Cravings
This can be the most primary any important step as we tend to have cravings post-delivery too, I did have some very bad one especially after nursing a child when one craves for sugar. Control yourself and go for some alternative with lesser fat and calories instead.

Have Realistic Expectations
Once we look at the mirror we tend to forget that we have given birth to a small child and are a mom now and can't simply go back to our pre-pregnancy body just like that. So ladies have patience don't compare yourself to supermodels right away, give it time. Staying fit after pregnancy should be your motto!

Eat Right
Eating right is highly essential as you have to feed a small baby too. Do not drastically reduce your food or calorie intake instead monitor it scientifically so that you do not end up spoiling the health of your baby and you. A lactating mother needs about 1500 calories to provide the right nutrition to her child, stick to it. Avoid bad calorie or empty calories as in aerated drinks.

Sleep And Rest Well
A healthy night routine ensures your fresh mood and body. Also, it has been medically proven that people who have sufficient night sleep tend to be slimmer and fitter than their counterparts with disturbed sleep pattern. So sleep tight and don't let the bugs bite.

Breast Feed
Breast feeding not only ensures your child's nutrition but also monitors your weight. The more you feed the more calories you lose.

Water Intake
Keeping yourself hydrated is also extremely important as one loses water post-delivery through both bleeding and lactation. Consumption of insufficient water can lead to dehydration. So Beware.

Exercise After Six Weeks
I know we all want to lose those extra curves but wait for six weeks minimum and after consulting a doctor start your healthy workouts like crunches.

Small Meals Many Times A Day
Have small proportions of meal distributed over several times in a day. Do not starve yourself, you are starving the baby too.

Cuddle And Play With The Baby
Generally cuddling and playing with baby has two effects. Firstly, both the mother and child are in an elated mood state in turn reducing the mother's chances of post-partum depression and secondly, walking or playing with child has toning effects on your body.

Follow Desi-nuskas(Old Remedies) Of Post-delivery Belts
The concept of wrapping cotton cloth tightly around one's belly is actually helpful as it helps in reducing the bulging tummy after delivery. This is how the concept of caesarian belts came into being.
