At What Age Is A Child's Risk Of Injury The Highest?
Researchers concluded that the risk of injury is highest for infants. In which age range is a child's risk of injury the highest? A study claims that babies who are under the age of one year are more vulnerable to all kids of injuries whether it is due to accidents or abuse.

Also, when tender babies suffer any kind of injuries, the survival rate could be very low compared to kids who injure themselves after they cross 5 years of age.

When researchers studied the data from most of the hospitals, they realised that the number of infants who received treatment for any kind of injury was high especially below the age of 12 months.

Also, the data suggests that some cases were accidents and the rest were domestic abuse. There were also some cases where angry or impatient parents were the reason behind the injury.

The data also suggests that most of the injured children were below the age of 5 and nearly 70% of them were below the age of one. At that age, severe injuries could be life-threatening which is why scientists warn parents to be more careful when raising infants.
The data also threw light on the nature of injuries. Most of the cases where an accident was the reason behind the injury involved hand and leg injuries whereas assaults showed injuries around the torso.

A percentage of the injured infants lost their lives which is an alarming reminder to parents of infants. Basing on this research, health experts warn parents to be more alert when they raise infants. Aggressive parents or alcoholic parents may either neglect their infant's care, or may assault their kids when they are angry which is a very dangerous situation.
The most delicate phase of human life is infancy and that is when parents are expected to give all their attention to their kids.
