How To Prep Your Pets Before You Bring Home A Newborn!
Bringing a new baby home is a big transition, and it's important to make sure your pets are ready for the change as well. It's important to take the time to acclimate your pet to the new environment, and to give them plenty of love and attention to make sure they don't feel neglected.

Pets may feel threatened by the presence of a new member in the home, and it's important to show them that they are still part of the family and that the baby is not a threat.
How To Prep Your Pets Before You Bring Home A Baby?
Here are some tips to help you prepare your furry friends for the arrival of your little one:
1. Start introducing them to baby items. Get your pets used to the sound and smell of a baby by placing items like a baby swing or a bassinet near them. You can even play recordings of a baby crying at a low volume [1].
2. Give them a special space. Set up a safe and comfortable spot for your pets to go when they need some space or a break from the activity of the house. Make sure their space is stocked with their favourite items and toys [2].
3. Spend extra time with them. Before the baby arrives, be sure to give your pets plenty of love and attention. Take them on extra walks and play extra games.

4. Change their routine. With a new baby in the house, your pets' daily routine will inevitably change. To help them adjust, start changing their routine a few weeks before the baby is born. Move their meals earlier or later, and give them extra playtime during the day [3].
5. Talk to your vet/trainer. Before you bring the baby home, make sure your pets are up-to-date on their vaccinations and have had a thorough check-up. Your vet/trainer can also provide helpful advice on how to best prepare your pets for the baby's arrival [4].
On A Final Note...
By following these tips, you can help make your pet's transition with your new baby a smooth one. With a little preparation, your furry friends will soon be excitedly awaiting the arrival of your bundle of joy.

When you adopt an animal, you save a loving animal and open up shelter space for another animal that might desperately need it. In addition to providing unconditional love, animals are psychologically, emotionally, and physically beneficial for their companions.
