Planning Pregnancy After Thirty

Gone are the days when girls got married at a younger age and destined to do household works. At present, with career commitments, aims and goals, women take up the responsibility of marriage only in their late twenties. Bank balance is as important for women as it has been for men, thus, with late marriage, a women plans pregnancy only in her thirties.

The right age for pregnancy is twenties, as your both physical and mental health is perfect to support pregnancy. With age, organs become weak and thus, complications may be experienced. Doctors often claim that after thirty, a women might face some complications in pregnancy. Lets look at some of the pregnancy risks after thirty -

1.Fertility – After thirty a women finds it very difficult to conceive. Women fertility decrease to a great extent after thirty and to plan pregnancy needs to take doctors advice. Pregnancy after fertility treatment usually has side effects and there are chances of having twins.

2.Blood Pressure – The common pregnancy risk after thirty is the occurrence fluctuation in blood pressure. The condition in medical terms is called Preeclampsia. This is a condition which constrict blood vessels and hampers corrective blood flow. This might lead to blood pressure fluctuation. The result is miscarriage, still birth or abnormality. Blood pressure fluctuation during pregnancy might also lead to hampering the mothers health.

3.Gestational Diabetes – One of the major pregnancy risk after thirty is gestational Diabetes. Pregnant women develop gestational diabetes when the body is unable to produce enough insulin to meet the increased glucose production, which is important for baby development. Once detected it can be cured but the mother might end up getting Type 2 Diabetes after child birth.

4.Miscarriage- One of the major pregnancy risks after thirty is miscarriage. This happens due to several factors, one being the Preeclampsia, second preexisting health conditions etc. Research has proven that 20 percent of pregnancies after thirty end in miscarriage.

5.Birth Defects – Birth defects is not very common among in pregnancy after thirty but the risks increases with age. One of the major birth defects is the chromosomal defect.

When planning pregnancy after thirty, one should take doctors advice regularly to avoid problems.
