Man Creates World’s Hottest Chilli Pepper, Pepper X: How Does It Feel To Eat It?
Meet Ed Currie, the man who lives and breathes peppers. We're not kidding; this guy starts his day with pepper-infused coffee! His fiery obsession led him to create Pepper X, which recently got the title of the world's hottest chilli pepper, as verified by Guinness World Records.
But what is it really like to munch on this literal fireball? How does it feel to eat Pepper X - World's Hottest Chilli Pepper?

World's Hottest Pepper, Pepper X: How Does It Feel To Eat It?
When Ed took a bite of Pepper X, he experienced something incredible. As soon as the pepper touched his taste buds, he got a rush of its unique flavour.
Now, here's where things get lit. Immediately after savouring that flavour, the heat starts creeping in. For Ed, this scorching heat was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride - and not the fun kind! He described it as literally unbearable.

Why does it hurt, you may think: The heat comes from capsaicin, a chemical found in peppers. It tricks your body into perceiving it as a "poison."
Surprisingly, Ed said that amid the agony, he felt euphoric. Yeah, you heard it right! That's because when your mouth is on fire, your body releases endorphins. It's like a natural high, which sounds pretty rad, doesn't it?
When things went from spicy to spicier, someone handed Ed a milkshake. Logical, right? But nope, it only cranked up the heat even more! Apparently, it was like pouring gasoline on a bonfire. Yikes!
Dairy, like milk, can help soothe the heat for some people, but not in Ed's case, when it comes to the World's Hottest Chilli Pepper.

The Pain Was Similar To Menstrual Cramps
As the heat wave continued, Ed found himself grappling with cramps. He compared them to menstrual cramps (oh boy, that's intense!). This is your body's way of saying, "You've done something crazy, buddy!"
After a few hours of recovery (and probably some soul-searching), Ed went out to eat again. Guess what? He decided to have more peppers because, in his wife's words, he's "just an idiot."

Well, we don't recommend you follow in Ed's fiery footsteps by chomping down the World's Hottest Chilli Pepper, but it sure makes for an amusing tale.
A prominent American chilli pepper breeder, Ed Currie founded and presently heads PuckerButt Pepper Company as president and CEO. A number of years ago, Currie bred the Carolina Reaper, one of the world's hottest chilli peppers, which replaced Pepper X, which was also bred by Currie, as the hottest chilli pepper of all time in 2023.
Disclaimer: While Ed's pepper exploits make for a wild story, remember that extremely spicy foods can be risky for your health. Always consume them in moderation.
