10 New Year Resolutions We Never Keep
It's that time of the year again when you jot down the dos and don'ts for the soon approaching new year. You would call them resolutions. But at the end of the year, nothing would really be resolved! There might be various reasons for never keeping your New Year resolutions. But at the end of the day, a reason is a reason.
You are probably just like the million others, who make resolutions with much pomp and show. But at the end of the year, you fret at another year that passed without really implementing any of your ideas.
The excitement smells like teen spirit but then, as the first week passes by, you just become your faithful old self! Last year's resolutions seem like a distant memory and you really aren't sure if your New Year resolutions are really new or just carried forward from the last year.
But year after year, you faithfully make a new list and drown it in a glass of a champagne cocktail. So, we present to you some of the New Year resolutions that you'll never really keep.
Drink within limits:
Drinking really starts with the new year and ends with you making the same New Year resolution for the next year! Guys/Girls, you really don't need to get sloshed to enjoy a drink!
Save a lot of money:
If you really had saved a lot of money, you would have been in the Bahamas instead of the local pub! So, new year comes and goes. But what remains constant are the resolutions you make year after year.
Stop dating jerks:
Year after year, your heart is broken but you still crash your way into love at the drop of a hat! When do you think you'll learn your lesson on waiting for the right one? Apparently, the next year you say!
The end of the Facebook stalker:
Quit navigating your ex's Facebook profile! It will only make you feel bad about yourself. And please don't send "mujhse fraaandship karogi" request to random people. This is one of the most funny New Year resolutions but still one that you'll never keep.
Clutter-less inbox and hard disk:
Does looking at your email inbox depress you? It's time you did something about it. But it really can wait until next year, just like the last time. The hard disk is a whole different beast and taming it would be near to impossible. So, this New Year resolution continues to be in the recycle bin!
Keep a clean desktop:
A clean desktop? You are probably wondering what that means! Organising all the shortcuts, deleting the unnecessary files and aligning the files according to their names, how hard can it really be? Supposedly, quite difficult, as you carried it forward from 2013!
Kill the coffee habit:
Well, everyone loves coffee but some of you get addicted to it. Some of you can't seem to function without it! But a caffeine habit is hard to let go and any New Year resolution revolving around you killing the coffee habit is a bad idea.
Lose weight and other myths:
This one has been going around since forever but losing weight continues to be a distant dream. This is one of the most common New Year resolutions. It is also one of the most broken resolutions.
Cleaning the wardrobe:
You always wanted your wardrobe to be spic-and-span but your wardrobe suggests otherwise. You promise to clean it on a particular day, days becomes months and so on.
Lesser time on Internet & phone:
With the advent of technology, we have become far more busy than ever. New Year resolutions such as spending lesser time on internet or your smartphone is like a fictional story. Seems like a good idea but not really gonna happen!
Quit smoking & other fairytale's:
Probably the most popular New Year resolution but also the most broken, smoking is a bane practised by far too many. You should try quitting this year but that's probably not happening.
Promises of sticking to your New Year resolutions:
Promising to stick to your New Year resolutions is pretty stupid! It goes to show that you know, at the back of your mind that you'll break your resolutions and it's inevitable. But you make a new one next year, anyway!
