Street food is something we all have tried at least once in our life. Many of us swear by the tasty and mouth-watering food that our local 'thelewala' serves. Be it Kolkata's famous kati rolls or South India's dosa, everybody loves street food.
Although the Western fast food might have creeped in to our eating habits, we can never give up on our undying love of our Indian fast food. And the best part about Indian street food is that we get it in every nook and corner of our country.

While Mumbai's vada pav is almost like staple food for many Mumbaikars, aloo tikki from Lucknow, the city of nawabs, is the most relished food. Not to forget the South Indian dosa and idli that won millions of heart even in North India. And hey, who can say no to steaming hot momos from northeastern India. We all are indeed divided by states but united by food!

Vada Pav:
Our desi burger vada pav is our go-to food. Basically a Maharashtrian snack, vada pav is spicy preparation of mashed potatoes, coated in gram flour batter and deep fried. It is placed in Indian bun, locally known as pav. Vada pav can be relished any time of the year and any where.
Chhole Bhature:
People mostly enjoy this Punjabi dish for breakfast or evening snacks. It is a popular dish in most of the cities in India.
Bhel Puri:
This street food is every household's favourite. Light and tasty bhel puri satisfies the evening hunger pangs without adding to the calories. This snack made of puffed rice was supposedly originated in various Gujarati cafes in Bombay in British era. The Kolkata variant of bhel puri is known as 'jhalmuri' while in Bangalore it is called 'Churumuri.'
Samosa:
Samosa, a triangle-shaped snack stuffed with spicy mixture of mashed potatoes, is everybody's favourite. It goes extremely well with coriander and tamarind chutney.
Dosa:
This South Indian delicacy is made out of rice and black gram batter. Served with a potato potato sabzi, dosa is undoubtedly a favourite choice for breakfast for many.

Sandwich:

Famous street food of Kolkata, kati rolls are one of the most popular of all street foods among foodies. A fried egg is stuffed inside a paratha. It is served with chutney or dipping sauce at various roadside stalls.
Pani Puri:

Aloo Tikki:
Originated in North India, aloo tikki is a deep-fried patty made of mashed potatoes. It is best enjoyed with tamarind or coriander chutney.
