The sight of hospitals are not very pleasant for most of us. Generally, all of us do not really like to visit the hospitals or doctors. However we cannot help it all the time. By and large all hospitals give us a creepy feeling. The high walls, the smell of medicines, the ghastly look on the faces of the patients are enough to make hospitals really dreadful.

The portrayal of the hospitals in most horror movies make them even more dreaded. The scary, abandoned hospitals shown in the movies makes us even more panicky when we visit one. However it is interesting that there are a few hospitals around the world which are actually spooky and can scare the hell out of you.

Royal Hope Hospital, USA

Royal Hope was a Spanish military hospital before eventually being demolished. Bizarre incidents like equipments shaking on its own, beds jumping and hurting the visitors have been reported. This hospital was actually built on a Native American burial ground which accounts for it being haunted.

Sai Ying Pun Psychiatry Hospital, Hong Kong

This mental hospital was built around 1892. Rumours like a woman crying, decapitated spirits roaming around, thunderous sounds from the building have been reported. It is said that during the second world war, this place was seized by the Japanese troops and was used as the execution ground.

Changi Hospital, Singapore

It has been a known haunted sight of Singapore for years. It was a Royal Air Force hospital initially. But later it was seized by the Japanese troops and was used as a torturing chamber. Many supernatural sightings have been reported by the visitors.

Ararat Lunatic Asylum, Australia

Now it is known as Aradale. It was the largest lunatic asylum of Australia. It was home to some of the most violent and dangerous psychotics of the world. The doctors used some bizarre and horrifying treatment methods to cure the patients. It remained open for 130 long years during which 13,000 patients died. It is one of the most haunted sights of Australia.

Taunton State Hospital, Massachusetts USA

It was built around 1854. This place has a really horrifying story. One of the famous patients of this hospital was Jane Toppan who confessed to having killed about 31 people while working as a nurse. It is also rumoured that the patients were carried to the basement of the hospital and were used by doctors and nurses to conduct satanic rituals.
