Social Indoctrination: After all guys are brought up as guys and girls are brought up as girls. Social indoctrination starts from a child's toys. Girls dress up their dolls and learn to be 'pretty'. Boys are given balls and bats to play with. They are taken out to watch sports by fathers and uncles. The role of upbringing cannot be denied in the men's obsession with sports.

Adrenaline Rush: We all need to have some adrenaline rushes or exciting moments in our lives. While women get these adrenaline rushes by shopping, men get theirs by watching sports.

Escape From Reality: Actually the reason that men watch sports is not very different from why women watch soap operas. It is a temporary relief from reality. In reality, our lives are dull and boring. Women seek escape from the dreary reality by losing themselves in fantasies. Men choose a more brutal way to express their passion.

It Is Not Expensive: Actually it hardly costs anything to be entertained by sports. You just need a television and a cable connection. Even if you go for a live match of the T20 World Cup, it will cost less than taking your girlfriend out for the evening!

At Least There Is A Chance To Win: An average man has to do as his parents command as a kid, what his wife commands as an adult and as his boss demands at office. So he is constantly losing the battle to everyone. But in sports, at least there is a good chance that you can win if you back the right side. Men love sports because it offers them the chance to win.
