Celebrate The World Photography Day 2010
Photography, the beautiful way of capturing moments dates back to the year 1841, when Nicephore Niepce used a sliding wooden box camera to click pictures. Later Louis Daguerre, developed the photographic process. The process was called Daguerreotype and was announced on 9th January 1839.
In the same year another process of photography Calotype was introduced by William Fox Talbot. That year was thus marked as a year dedicated to photography and 19th of August was named as the World's Photography Day. This day is being celebrated in many parts of the World for the past 20 years.
It was a beautiful invention and people were delighted to be able look back at their memories. As time passed by, cameras became a part of lifestyle and few took it up as an art. Now, we have photographers who not only capture a moment but also capture the emotion of the moment.
The World Photography Day is celebrated across the Globe. Australia, United Kingdom, United States, Philippines, Japan, India, Canada, Croatia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Italy, Romania, Singapore, Serbia, Spain, France, Mexico, South Africa and Nepal celebrate it as a festival.
Closer home, Hyderabad is celebrating the World Photography Day 2010, by introducing a photography competition. The contest is an initiative by Department of Information and Public Relations. The best photographs will be awarded and exhibited at the venue.
