Generally the public respect the mothers who are not working full time. They devalue the full-time-working mothers relative to the non-employed mothers. “People like mothers who fulfill traditional stereotypes, like staying at home. That's just not a reality and not a preference for women as much as it used to be," says Jennifer Livengood, a student in psychology.
