Google Versus Television

Google has collaborated with Sony Corp., Intel Corp. and Logitech International to transform the televisions into giant monitors for browsing.
Reportedly, Google's advertisement for television programming fetched meager returns, while on the other hand, it got 24 billion dollars revenue last year, mostly from television ads displayed on computer screens.
"I think this is going to be the biggest improvement to television since colour," says Intel CEO Paul Otellini as saying.
In the press meet, the company demonstrated how one can conduct searches for online videos and other content through a drop box displayed at the top corner of the TV screen.
Viewers will also be open to thumbnail views of a game score and can make search requests by speaking into a remote which runs on Google's Android operating system.
Customers may find it a bit difficult at beginning as it is one of it's kind technology but Google is sure it will capture the market in very less time.
The building up of the system is a joint effort, Sony will manufacture the TV, Intel will provide the microprocessors and Google will develop the software, including Android and the company's Chrome Web browser. Logitech will be responsible for the special remote control and wireless keyboard.
