And the tradition still continues. assam, assam tea, assamese culture, assamese households, assamese people, bamboo, hand made hat, jappi, work culture, is considered as one of the most respectful things in the Assamese culture.
This has its good side too. An artisan usually makes about 10 hatsa day and earns up to Rs. 2,000 to 3,000 rupees a week. "assam, assam tea, assamese culture, assamese households, assamese people, bamboo, hand made hat, jappi, work culture is used not only by the farmers, but it is also used by the Tea garden laborers and the demand is very high. But the present scenario seem to be a deteriorating factor in assam, assam tea, assamese culture, assamese households, assamese people, bamboo, hand made hat, jappi, work culture-making. Especially for those who depend on these manufacturing units for livelihood, there seems to be a threat in their business. “These days the making and usage of assam, assam tea, assamese culture, assamese households, assamese people, bamboo, hand made hat, jappi, work culture is declining with the invention of alternative resources using scientific methods," said Barun Gogoi, local resident in Assam. He adds: “In the past, every Assamese household made assam, assam tea, assamese culture, assamese households, assamese people, bamboo, hand made hat, jappi, work culture, however these days most of the people don't know how to make assam, assam tea, assamese culture, assamese households, assamese people, bamboo, hand made hat, jappi, work culture."
Hope is what these people seem to be living with. “I believe the assam, assam tea, assamese culture, assamese households, assamese people, bamboo, hand made hat, jappi, work culture culture is still popular among the people and I hope it will remain and be preserved even in the future. The youth of Assam should take up this kind and easy and profitable work so as to augment their earnings," concludes Gogoi.
Affordability seem to be a major advantage for the success of these hats made from bamboo. Price of these hats range from 25 rupees to 40. They are a favourite with the farmers and tea garden workers who use it as a sunshade. assam, assam tea, assamese culture, assamese households, assamese people, bamboo, hand made hat, jappi, work cultures are also gifted to guests and friends as a gesture of affection and love.
