Nintendo cooks up talking kitchen guide
It helped you get back in shape and even trained your brains. Now, video game brand Nintendo has created a talking kitchen guide, which could spell the end of the traditional cook book.
The new computerized guide promises wannabe chefs "hands-free" advice. With hundreds of recipes from around the world already programmed in, the Nintendo DS Cooking Guide talks users through each step, as well as helping them with everything from controlling calories to compiling a shopping list.
Rather than leafing through books, stressed cooks can simple type in what they want to eat and chose from a variety of suitable recipes. The device can make calculations to adjust portions, alter recipes for slimmers or even work out the cost of the weekly shop.
Demonstrates cooking tips with video - making it easier to follow than regular cook books. But there does seem to be a design flaw: the gadget doesn't have a pause button, so if you get stuck you have to go back.
The 'Cooking Guide: Can't Decide What to Eat" launches on 20th June at an estimated retail price of 30 pounds. The Nintendo DS is available at a cost of 99.99 pounds.
