The Golden Chariot: Epitome of Luxury on Tracks

By Staff

The Golden Chariot
The Golden Chariot, India's most luxurious train intended to promote tourism in Karnataka, will be unveiled on February 2 by Her Excellency Smt. Pratibha Patel, Honorable President of India. Moulded in steel, crafted with passion, inspired by kings, holy men, timeless beauties and cosmic dances, the Golden Chariot will serve as an ambassador of Karnataka tourism. Luxuriously appointed with the finest facilities, The Golden Chariot will take the passengers on journey through the pages of history.

The train has 19 luxuriously and thematically designed coaches, among which 11 coaches are passenger coaches, each one equipped with modern amenities like wi-fi- environment, plasma TV and attached baths etc.

It is better told that, instead of the twelve places the train covers in seven days, the journey will bring twelve unique experiences to you. The journey of seven days covers 1500 years of history which you may experience no where else. Flagging off at Bangalore which is the 'silicon city' of 21st century and also was the most renowned British town during the colonial period, the train then proceeds to Mysore, the battle field of 18th century which also has the footprints of the royal splendor of 19th century. The 'chariot' then passes through Hassan, Hampi, Badami, Aihole, Pattadakal and Goa. The Golden Chariot on it's voyage of seven days and seven nights unveils empires, unlocks treasures, unravels secrets, and takes you to a time now lost, wrapped in luxury.

Reliable sources swear that no other train anywhere on world has as many features the Golden Chariot has. No train ever featured a wi-fi system and live TV programs. The satellite TV helps you to be live on board. All the passenger chambers are adorned such a way that even the wind in the train is luxurious. They are steeped in history and they also will make you feel like under a sky of craftsmanship that narrate timeless tales. The furnitures are inspired by 'Hoysala' architecture. The hand woven silk sheets and feather smooth bed will make you to sink into world class royalty.

Inspired by the successful stories of other Indian Luxurious trains like 'Palace on Wheels', The Golden Chariot will in take commercial passengers from the month of March onwards. A 38 crore, prestigious project of Karnataka Tourism Development Corporation, The Golden Chariot is expected to attract both international and domestic passengers to the state. Just like the determination and vision that transformed Bangalore into the software hub of the world, The Golden Chariot is another world class initiative born in Karnataka, which will glitter out the historical importance and tourist attractions of the state to the outer world.
