Sabyasachi Brings Heavy Prints & Accessories At ICW 2014

The most awaited India Couture Week 2014 (ICW) started with a bang. Veteran fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee commenced the event with some of his splendid designs and work. Being day 1 of the show, Sabyasachi Mukherjee presented a long line of vintage clothing in the name of ‘Ferozabad'.

There were no showstoppers on day 1 to enhance his collection. The stage, which was done like the inside of an ornate luxury train, added more glamour to the collection. His designs were enchanting as it was a combination of bold colours, patterns and prints which were heavy to look at. Moreover, though his collection at the ICW 2014 were of bright and bold colours, his main theme was a nude base.

Sabyasachi's entire collection at the ICW 2014 displayed a different appeal in terms of fashion. He portrayed a sense of style and the mixture was sensual. Sarees, bandhgalas, zardosi patterns and tulle completed his work of art at the ICW 2014. The work on his outfits were unimaginable. Each attire looked different and better. The accessories paired up with the Indian wear contrasted well with the rich colours and print.

Here are some of the fascinating accessories and prints from Sabyasachi's line at the ICW 2014:

Peplum Kurta

A light golden thrill of colour was brought to the ramp by designer Sabyasachi. The peplum and the printed jacket with silver trimmings made this outfit stand out.

Red Velvet Print

Nude was the base colour of his designs. Sabyasachi, however, added a burst of colour to enhance his collection. Red, being bright and beautiful, was seen on the borders and the end of the pallu.

Heavy Embroidery

Here again, nude is the chief colour. However, the floral designs on the plunging neckline dress submerged the nude shade.

Rich Choli

If you want to wear something heavy for a wedding or a cultural occasion, this is one of the cholis to opt for. The entire back of the choli was studded with little sparkles to compete with the embroidery on the mint saree.

Mirror Mirror....

Lots of mirror work too was used as print in Sabyasachi's line at the ICW 2014. This pale or peach coloured gown was embellished with fine mirror work not leaving an inch out.

Love For Tulle

Tulle was another material that was largely used at ICW 2014 by designer Sabyasachi. The bottom of this lehenga was heavy with jhumkas and other miniature detailings.

Girdled Accessories

Not to forget the alienated accessories he teamed up his designs with. This is something we have never seen before, so it was like a breath of fresh air.

Orange Is The New Black

Did you know that orange is the new black? This printed straight pants matched with a coral bandhgala was perfect. We also loved the fine print on the pants which didn't look feminine.

Potli Bags

To wrap up his line of collection, Sabyasachi had a range of handbags which were amazing to look at. This decked up potli bag rounded off the look at ICW 2014 on day 1.

Zardosi Lehengas

If you want to look extra special for an Indian event, then you need to go in for something like this. The heavy lehenga with zardosi print and glass work was just fascinating to the eyes.

Black Is Black

Black always works. This beautiful lehenga skirt was articulated with fine zardosi work. What we loved is the combination of colours.

Crisp Sarees

If you take a close look at the print on this saree, you will fall in love with it instantly. This Sabyasachi saree was heavy at the bottom with chutti designs. Gold threads completed the pale blue look of the Sabyasachi saree.
