Cannes 2014 Day 1: Celebs On The Red Carpet
Cannes Film Festival 2014 was officially declared open at yesterday night at the opening ceremony. The festival opens with the most talked about film every year. Last year, 'The Great Gatsby' premiered at the opening ceremony of Cannes. This year, the 'Grace Of Monaco' premiere opened Cannes 2014 for the judges and audiences. And Day 1 of Cannes 2014 , as always was very special affair.
A bulk of the celebrities usually turn up at the opening ceremony. However, we saw a limited turn out of celebrities on the red carpet for the first major event of Cannes Film Festival 2014. Nicole Kidman, who plays Grace Kelly in 'Grace Of Monaco' was obviously the star attraction on the red carpet. She looked sizzling in an azure blue Armani Prive gown. We had the entire Jury that included Sofia Coppola and Carole Bouquet.
Making us Indians proud, Uday Chopra made his debut on the red carpet of Cannes Film festival 2014 as the producer of 'Grace Of Monaco'. Mallika Sherawat was also in attendance at the opening ceremony of Cannes 2014 in a blue lace Emilio Pucci gown. The other Indian celebrities were missing from the scene. But as the 12 days long Cannes Film Festival progresses, we will surely get to see more celebrities on the red carpet.
Here are some of teh hottest celebrities she appeared on the red carpet of Cannes 2014 on Day 1.

Nicole Kidman In Armani
Nicole Kidman wore a peacock blue gown from Armani Prive. The strapless beauty had silver details and Nicole paired the gown with diamond earrings and a diamond cuff bracelet.

Blake Lively In Gucci
Blake Lively has been wearing Gucci from the time she has come to France. She wore Gucci at Nice Airport and then wore a maroon Gucci number on the red carpet as well.

Zoe Saldana In Victoria Beckham
Zoe Saldana looked like quite a stunner in this white Victoria Beckham gown. The ruffled and pleated look was very different and away from the usual red carpet attire. A creative chance that worked for Zoe.

Laetitia Casta In Dior
When it comes to the French, always expect the unexpected. French model Laetitia Casta chose a very 'feathery' look from Christian Dior's fall collection. This strapless, white chicken costume does not work for us.

Jane Fonda In Elie Saab
Jane Fonda is a golden girl of Hollywood. She was pristine in a maroon Elie Saab gown a tonal belt, crystal embellishments and Chopard jewels to go with it. The gown reminded us of Angelina Jolie's Oscar 2014 gown.

Kendall Jenner In Chanel
Kendall Jenner looked kind of edgy in this Chanel dress. The black and white monochrome was nice. But we think that the dress was a wee-bit too tapering for our liking.

Zhang Zuyi In Stephanie Rolland
Zhang Zuyi has been quite a number since her last appearance on the Cannes red carpet. We like her geometric patterned gown from Stephanie Rolland. It was a typical and classical red carpet gown.

Adele Exarchopoulos In Louis Vuitton
Adele Exarchopoulos have a simple and minimal look in a standard Luis Vuitton. She chose to wear a black and white thigh-high slit. The make and accessories could have fired up this look that is not bad but a little unfinished.

Gong Li In Roberto Cavalli
Gong Li looked a bit too severe and gloomy in this black lace gown from Roberto Cavalli. She looked like she was at a mourning instead of a red carpet.

Sofia Coppola In Valentino
Sofia Coppola is a picture of grace and simplicity in this stunning black mini dress from Valentino. The dress had lace details and embellishments.

Carole Bouquet In Chanel
Jury member Carole Bouquet has developed a taste for Chanel. After the photocall, we saw Carole wear a halter neck Chanel tulle gown for the red carpet as well. The pastel pick colour was soothing and suave.

Uday Chopra In Tuxedo
Uday Chopra opted for a simple black tuxedo with a bow tie that made him look smart and comfortable on the red carpet of Cannes 2014.

Mallika Sherawat In Emilio Pucci
This sky blue Emilio Pucci gown was a surprise from Mallika Sherawat. The full sleeved gown shows every little skin apart from the scooped back. Looks like Mallika is on a 'no revealing' diet.
