LG's Mallika-e-Kitchen Winners Announced

LG Electronics, the global giant in cutting-edge technology and innovative products, rolled out the much awaited grand finale of the fourth season of Mallika-e-Kitchen Cooking Contest 2012 in Hyderabad on 12th October' 12. The contest which has been running successfully from last four years announced the name of their current winners after much anticipation. Mrs. Disha V Pujar from Mumbai has been crowned the Mallika of culinary expertise in India's biggest amateur cooking competition.

Mallika-e-Kitchen contest has been a hit from the very first season as it provided women all around the nation an opportunity to display their culinary skills at a national level. It is a three stage cooking competition which was organized nationwide that started from 9th June, 2012. The contest which is built on the foundation of culinary skills and expertise, received an overwhelming response from not just the participants but also the viewers of the show.

More than 5000 contestants participated in the contest from over a 100 cities in 3 months. The Grand finale of "Mallika-e-Kitchen 2012" was a live cooking competition among 24 finalists selected pan India to prove their culinary skills. All contestants were asked to cook a main course dish within a time span of 90 minutes in LG Convection Microwave oven. The whole idea was to promote 'Healthy Cooking' through the new innovative range of MWOs by LG Electronics India. After the tough competition of talent and skills, winners were selected based on pre-define parameters related to taste, texture and innovation.

The "Mallika-e-kitchen" Cooking Contest was judged by Cooking Connoisseur & Mentor Ms. Nita Mehta and Chef Mandaar Sukhtankar, widely known for their cooking and recipes they have created. The 1st national Winner was Mrs. Disha V Pujar from Mumbai was rewarded with 47" LED. The 2nd and 3rd winner were Mrs. Narmada Joshi from Chandigarh and Mrs. Saptaparna Bhattacharya from Kolkata and were rewarded with 42" LCD and 32" LCD respectively.

Speaking about the contest, Ms. Nita Mehta and Chef Mandaar Sukhtankar said, "This has been an exciting season, with new talent and new ideas. The final judgment is always tough, as everyone is excellent in their own way."

Mrs. Disha V Pujar the 1st National winner too commented on her grand victory, "I am extremely thankful to LG for having provided this platform to me to display my passion for good and healthy food. An event of this scale would not have been possible without it."
