World's Most Expensive Wines
The most expensive wines are more often then not produced in France. It is well known that every tiny little district in France produces a special variety of wine that invariably finds its way into the list of world's best and expensive wines. We all drink wines like we all read books but the most expensive wines in the world are for connoisseurs like hardbound books are for Collector's edition. Vintage wines are often auctioned out to the highest bidder because the older the wine the more it's price.

We will not get into the astronomical amounts of these auctions. Lets us take an amateur's look at which are the most expensive wine brands and how much a bottle of each will cost you.

World's Most Expensive Wines:

1. Chateau Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac, France: This is a very popular alcohol beverage among the rich and the famous. There was huge uproar about it in 1985 when a bottle that came out of US President Thomas Jefferson"s cellar was auctioned and its credibility was under question.
PRICE: An average bottle of this exquisite wine will cost you 1663 $ for 750 ml. But it can go as high as 2,91170 $ for a collectors bottle!

2. Domaine de la Romanee-Conti Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits, France: or Romanee-Conti for short. Did you know that wines are named after the vineyard, the type of grapes it is made from and also the wine area in which they grow. That explains the unpronounceable name! This particular best and expensive wine hails from Burgundy.
PRICE: This is by far the most expensive wine the world as mere bottle will cost you over 10,000 $ and the vintage one could go up to 65,000 $!

3. Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, USA: Again a very common name from the society life around best alcoholic drinks. You will find many Hollywood celebrities and top entrepreneurs sipping this most expensive wine. This one as is obvious from the name is not a Francois, it is grown and brewed in the Napa Valley of California which makes a major portion of worlds premium wines. Cabernet Sauvignon is the name of the grape from which many varieties of most expensive wines are made.
PRICE: A normal bottle would come for well over 2500 $ but if you want frills it can go up to 20,000 $ as well!

4. Seppeltsfield Para Centenary 100 Year Old Vintage Tawny, Barossa Valley, South Australia: Coming far away from Australian continent this wine owes its prestigious status to the a peculiar fact. It is brewed from very old grape vines which are a specialty of the Barossa valley, south of Australia. None of the vines here are less than a century old.
PRICE: An average bottle of this will take a toll of about 2 to 3 grands on your pockets. The price of this wine is not known to escalate as rapidly as the others with age.

These were some of the most expensive wines for your table. If you have the palate and pockets deep enough then 'happy drinking'!
