Pop icon Madonna is reportedly the most popular celebrity of the decade. The diva is said to have got the maximum print space in every newspaper and magazines for the past ten years. According to a study by Kantar Media, 52-year-old madonna has been mentioned in the UK print media more than 40.000 times than any other most popular star since 2000.

Brian Merron, a researcher of the Kantar Media group said that the ratings alone prove how Madonna hailed as a legend. He added that the stickability factor in the consciousness of the nation marks Madonna as a special talent and someone who is able to constantly re-invent themselves to change with the times. He continued that despite the dominance of the old-guard however can see the next generation of could-be superstars jockeying for position. He even named a few like Justin Bieber, Cheryl Cole and even Kate Middleton making strides on the established pack.

The British print press reported that Madonna had scored 46,017 name checks making her most popular celebrity and getting her a way ahead of her closest competitor, the TV mogul and X factor judge Simon Cowell, who achieved 29,888. Singer Robbie Williams, with 28,563, completed the top three with others like Kate Moss, Britney Spears and Victoria Beckham bagging places in the top 10.
