No More 'Girl Next Door' Roles For Me: mandy moore

It doesn't look any more that the bollywood girls are the only ones looking for the right kind of roles, but the trend seems to be fast spreading among the hollywood miladies too. Did we just say, 'trend'? Ahem! Confused? Ok. How many times have you heard your very own desi babes talking about roles they didn't want to do. Arguments like 'I am just waiting for the right kind of role', or, 'I didn't take the movie because my role didn't stand out'. And when some how it seemingly started to look more like a cliche, the best resort was to retort 'I am open to all kinds of role. Just that, I'm not getting some thing that I can relate my self to'. But now, it seems the syndrome had travelled far across the ocean. Now, hollywood, too, seems not be very far from the scene – actors complaining with their roles. The latest addition to this is the american singer-songwriter, mandy moore.

Moore, initially began her career as a singer, and later took the road to hollywood. With already movies like 'A walk to remember' and 'Saved!' up her sleeves, Moore now feels that she should do some thing different; she is keen to shed her 'girl next door' image, and is eager to land more decent and powerful roles. Moore feels, if need be, she can walk that extra mile to make people realize her potential. I don't want to be a wallflower. I don't want to be shy. Give me the opportunity to get in the room and have a conversation as to why I know I can do this. It's OK that you see me as this person, but I'm an actress, and I'll work to play the part," Contactmusic quoted Moore as telling Marie Claire magazine.
"It has to be right. I've had the opportunity to play the drug dealer who gets gang-raped, and I'm like, for what reason? Doing it just to do it? To just show people that I can be sexy or dark? I don't want to do something just to make that point. It needs to happen organically and I'm really confident it will. I'm a pretty patient person, and I'll wait until we find the right stuff," she added. O yes, no body doubts your prettiness Ms. Moore. And so far as your roles are concern, we just hope that we get to see the rejuvenated Moore soon.
