Evan's Dream With Hot Havana Nights

Evan Erlick, a 13 year old battling cancer, dreamt of being able to help change the lives of children living with the disease. Although not around to see it himself, his dream is becoming a reality again. Join uson Wednesday, February 25, 2009 for the 2nd Annual Evan's Dream: this year themed as, "Hot Havana Nights". Ticketsare currently on sale, with all proceeds benefitting SickKids Foundation and the Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF). Your support is needed and, as always, greatly appreciated.

Evan was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 11. During his long and heroic battle, Evan had ultimately hoped that cancer would be eradicated but it was through his own experience at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) that he wished for a room where cancer patients could play games, have fun and escape their illness before treatment. Sadly, Evan passed away at age 13 but in his short life he touched and inspired so many people at both SickKids and ICRF. In his memory, Evan's Dream was born.

"This event means so much to us," say Lisa and Allan Erlick, Evan's parents and SickKids Leaders. "We are able to pay tribute to our son while at the same time help other individuals in their time of need. Both ICRF and SickKids bring assistance to so many families around the world and it's an honour to be working with them."

In all ways appearing to live up to last year's smashing success, the second annual event to support Evan's Fund is a major event in the SickKids Leaders' Calendar and will feature 500 guests dressed in spicy salsa or cool cocktail attire, enjoying gourmet food, drinks and live entertainment all keeping with the Cuban theme. Doors open at 7:30 PM.
