Barack Obama On Fashion Ramps
It is the Presidential inauguration in four days, the occasion the entire world is waiting for. The fashion industry's latest flavor of the season is Barack Obama, with the president inspired designs are high on the latest fashion ramps. The inauguration-themed clothing are set to blaze the runway on fire, as the 44th president of United States is sworn in.

Various fashion accessories ranging from T-shirts, tote bags and scarves are adorned by Derek Lam and Narcisco Rodriguez to the common person with a humorous sense of style.

"It's dialling back to zero because we're starting fresh." says Lam about his design for the presidential Inaugral committee, that shows graphic rows of 'zeros', 'Obama' and '01-20-09' at the bottom.

Many celebrity designers like Bill Jemas are utilizing the Inauguration as a new platform to promote his new 'peace-focuses' brand Intelligent design, while 'reconciliation' is the underlying message for many other designers.

'Obama' is the best-selling apparel, as revealed by the Zazzle.com, an on-demand retail website, others also on the similar sales league are hats, shoes, skateboards and other paraphernalia. According to DeMarco, there are more than 113,000 Obama-inspired products on the site, with around 30,000 dedicated to 'Yes We Can' or 'Yes We Did.'

Increasing number of Obama-faces appear on various items, as observed by Jana Eggers, CEO of Spreadshirt, a personalized apparel company. Though the election items were missing, Inaugral T-shirts have made it to the Spreadshirt's home page now.

"It's probably one of the biggest honours I've been asked to do since I've been designing and that's almost 16 years," said designer Rachel Roy about her instant participation in the event. AGENCIES
